Looks cool. I'd love to see more maps available than just Lingor and Chenarus.

My Server files - DayZ 1.7.2.6 (including Lingor Island), updated quickly and very easy to install
Please dont send me pm's asking how to set up a server! I dont do private support.

This is my first project like this. I figured I would get this down first then move on to a big island.

This is already available on Vilayer DayZPackage Servers as of this morning. Takistan is on the way or so I am told as well.

I saw theirs on the server list. Mine launched 3 days before. I also just joined one of the servers. Very unstable and you spawn in the middle of the airfield. In mine you spawn around the coastline. They have nothing setup.

EDIT: DayZ Takistan is going to be weird. If they get it to work right, it will be pretty interesting.

I haven't had the chance to try it so I can't really comment on either, I got the impression you were still working on getting yours out. Miss read that.

I'd like to join your server do I need to download anything?

Not as of right now I have nothing you need to download. In the future I will edit the client side and tweak it to fit better with the map. For people joining? My answer is no. As of right now I am getting the spawns completed and then people will be able to join for public testing. I just have a few of my friends joining the server to test the spawns.

This is pretty easy to set up, thanks for the good idea. Got mine Up and running in ~20 minutes, proper randomized spawns along the coastline and everything.
Only thing that has to be done now, is to set up the vehicle spawns one by one. There is a problem with that though: there are very few industrial loot spawns in Utes, so getting parts for your broken car will be impossible. not that you really need a car, a bicycle will do, for a map as small as this.

server_playerSetup.sqf inside dayz_server.pbo
look for BIS_fnc_findsafepos and change it's parameters.
also, you need to change the spawn0-spawn5 spawnpoints inside mission.sqm
(I use antirocket's files).

Basically, you can take ANY map that uses chernarus type buildings (loot spawns are tied to each buildingtype)
and modify a couple of text files and the map runs just like Chernarus (except for the randomized rubble, car wrecks etc, they are set somewhere inside @dayZ modfolder which we cant edit legitimately).

You should talk with HFB Servers about joining up and providing Utes to their customers ;) Make some money off of your time :P

What version of the game do you have? Maybe you have a compressed version of the game. This error can come up if those .ff files are missing, or if the server is using different files than you have ;)
