Hello Ladies and Gentelman,

I'm proud to present you my latest Map port to Dayz. Panthera Island, made by IceBreakr who most of you may know from Lingor Island, is a high detailed 10kmx10km map. It features around 50 well made settlements in various sizes scattered all over the outstanding rough, detailed and mountainous terrain. Take a look at his website and on all the other Islands he made http://www.icebreakr.info/ , it's worth it.

Back to the infos you realy want with some facts about the Port:
-50 vehicle spawns (Thanks to Nemes1s for this)
-Every building is completly compatible with the DayZ loot algorithms, so every building spawns loot and zombies
-Lootdrop chances adjusted based on the amount of buildings of the specific types that are used on the island relative to Chernarus
-Removed all the debris,bodys and roadblocks. New statics for enhanced atmosphere may come in the future
-Pure vanilla DayZ in a new enviroment, what else can one want.

Client Instructions:

To play DayzPanthera you have now exactly two different ways to go:

The DayZCommander way:
Grab DayzCommander here http://www.dayzcommander.com/ download and install the application. You can now download and install DayzPanthera and many other maps with this tool.

The manual way:
1) Download @DayzPanthera here:
http://panthera.germandayz.de
2) Extrac the Archive to your Arma2OA/CO directory
3) Start your game with @DayzPanthera activated. DO NOT activate @DayZ
~The following steps are required to play on my server and not mandatory :P~
Step 4) Connect to the server. IP:85.10.195.138 Port:6302 (those with problems to connect via Ip search for newcommunity in the servername filter)
Step 5) Enjoy!

Notes:

My old and the DayzPlanet version are now merged and released under the DayzPlanet label. This does not only reduce the confusion but increase the comfort for everyone as DayzCommander support is now included.

Server Instructions:

Dont forget to apply the latest client files to the server too. Client version is refered to the @DayzPanthera files, server version to the mission file.

1) You will need a seperate Database because other Maps vehicle spawns dont work with Panthera, the best way is to grab a fresh version of you favorite private Hive
2) Clear everything located in the object_spawn tables (may be called different on not anti_rocket databases)
3) Import the Panthera vehicle spawn locations downloadable here: http://www.mediafire...f4wk4w1ge5f3l6e (anti_rocket format, can be viewed with any text editor)
4) Download most recent DayzPanthera (Current Version: 1.5) and extract it to your Arma2OA directory:

5) Download the serverkey for DayzPanthera and put it into your keys directory: http://www.mediafire...c4p8atp33kqk992
6) Download the most recent mission (Current Version: 1_2) and extract it to your MPMission directory: http://www.mediafire...xnarz7m9691a39n
7) Open up your server.cfg, scroll to the bottom and replace the mission stated in the mission cycle with dayz_222_v1.Panthera2.
8) Add @DayzPanthera to your -mod parameter in your startup file and remove @dayz. Should look like this -mod=@WhateverHiveYouUse;@DayzPanthera
9) Start the server. It should be running fine now.

Not yet, will fix some stuff that is still bugging me and add some objects for the atmosphere. I will upload all the files required to set up the server once I'm satisfied.

It does look like a good dayz map, unlike takistan which is just flat and boring.

Looks better than Fallujah too. I'll have to try this out this weekend. Would love to throw it up on my server. Looking forward to server files being published. Thanks in advance for the hard work!

Hmm I'm not able to find the server either. I updated to the required beta and I have the mods installed and enabled. Is the server down?

It may have restarted at that time, after a crash it needs ~2 minutes untill the automatic restart fires, so you may have had bad luck. You should always be abled to find it via IP or search for Dayz++ as OmerDN said.

i can get on the server, and it looks really nice
but i get 10fps, which is unplayable
lingor and even fallujah run fine

edit: i guess the server was restarted.. getting good framerates now, an hour later

it works, for what i alone experienced today
some thoughts;

i have trouble walking through the barrack side doors (the ones with raised floors)
the door at the end works normally, but i have to wiggle to get through the side doors, or sometimes can't pass at all
it looks the same as the barracks in lingor, and i've had no trouble with those (different model version perhaps?)
this is for both, the short and the long version of the raised barrack buildings

it looks like loot doesn't spawn at all in new buildings
i'm guessing spawn spots haven't been implemented yet

by the time i found my first gun, i had my inventory filled with dmr mags, and the second gun i found was a dmr
have the dmr/sniper spawn rates been modified?
i'd prefer to get rid of snipers entirely in a map like this
every hill on the map covers all the surrounding towns, much more than in lingor or other maps,
it's a sniper heaven and just hell for everyone else
with dmrs available this will soon turn unplayable due to constant sniping
i would have cz at most
or a low fire rate one like m24 if a higher powered one is really wanted

but it'll be a fun map
i look forward to playing it with a larged crowd

Lootpoints for all new buildings have been added, you most likely either had bad luck or there went something wrong with the install. Just make a screenshot of the object and I look it up in the code, porpably a typo but I found loot in every building right now so thats very unlikely.

I havent modified the spawn rate of single items, I modified the spawnrate of the different groups of items (military, residential, etc.) according on how many buildings of the given type are present because that does not match with chernarus and may lead in unbalance. There are for example many more barracks then in chernarus.

As for the Lingor barracks, I noticed that too. Its a bug with the model I fear. Its getting worse when you carry a hatched or crowbar but with your sidearm you should be abled to pass. I fear there is nothing I can do about it.

Would you mind making a post about the tools you use and files you edit to make this work. I'd love to take a stab at converting other maps. I understand a tutorial would be a lot of work but a couple tips to point me in the right directions would be great.

I dont think a real tutorial, but I will release my files as source and they are commented for my better understanding. That should be enough to do it with a little trial and error :) . Did you notice anything like floating lootspots or roadblocks that are still present? Someone told me there are still roadblocks but I cant confirm it^^.

That would be great. I didn't see any floating loot. I can confirm there were some road blocks still. The ones i saw were in the south near Bajo Fuerta. Some were sticking out of hills so you could see the through them from below.

I also ran into the issue with it being tough to get into one of the doors on the barracks with the beds in them. you can go prone to get through the door. I remember this being an issue with version 33 of Lingor but in 34 it was much better so maybe there is a tweak to help with it. I also ran though several of the old style barracks with the 5 rooms or so on the left when you enter. I never found a single loot spawn in any of that building type. Maybe it has been set to too low of a spawn chance or maybe the loot was floating high so I didn't see it? Don't know exactly.

I also did not see any vehicles at all.

Did the whitelist get reset? I was playing last night but this morning when I tried to join I got denied again.

EDIT: when I search for "Dayz++" I find one server, 10 slots.
is this the appropiate server?
