I'm hoping I can get this issue I am having with Tunngle and Warcraft 3 solved. When I host games with Tunngle, everything is working great people can join etc. However, the problem comes when the game is in session. Every 5 or 10 mins (sometimes it can take up to 20 min, sometimes it can happen in 1 min. Its random, really.) A random player is dropped from the game. I have tested hosting on bnet when Tunngle is closed and there are no random drops whatsoever. However with Tunngle running (even without using it to play with anyone) in the background the random drops occur.

I am using Windows 7 64bit and recently upgraded from Windows Vista 32bit. I used to host fine without random drops with Tunngle running on Vista 32bit.

I noticed that it is telling me that my ports do not appear to be open. Even with no firewalls running, DMZ, and no other antivirus or anything running, it still tells me this. People can see and join my games regardless, but still might think this could be an issue. (Also UPnP does not work)

I have noticed this issue only occurs with Warcraft 3, I have played other games with the same people and there are no random drops.

What about your router firewall? Does it have a log? If yes does it show any error? Have you tried disabling it?

I play WC3 all the time, and have never seen this random drops. It is even more interesting you can play fine on bnet, but in tunngle and this game only it drops randomly.

I checked through all of the known issues, everything seems fine there.

Looked at my router log, found messages like this happening pretty much every day:

Apr 2 19:36:59 2010 Firewall Setup Configuration change Internal application has changed security settings [repeated 41 times, last time on Apr 3 03:31:46 2010]

The number of occurrence varies in each one. That one is 41 times, another time its 96, another is just 2, one is 494, etc.

That's pretty interesting but I noticed this problem started when I upgraded my system and got Windows 7 x64. hmmm

Hi . That might not be a problem. Anyway you can try playing with your router firewall settings to see if they make any difference.

With my router firewall turned low (there's no off option) and my connection DMZ'd, people are still dropping from my games. Could it have to do with using 2 connections at once? (tunngle and local area)

Hi . No it is not that since it is pretty normal to have two connections (to use Tunngle you need to be connected to the internet in some way).
Does the internet connection totally drop?
Maybe it is a router bug... try to look for the router software updates.
Also you can try this:
Go to Windows->start->run-> type in eventvwr.msc and press enter.
On the left pane expand Windows Logs and right click on application log.
Browse for errors and see if you can find anything about Tunngle.

Another thing. Try to ping the others when the problem is happening (start->run->cmd-> ping Tunngle_IP) and report the results.

Hi if problem is only in War3 maybe you or some of others don't have latest patch if that occurs they are drooped.
If you use latest and ask all of them are they used 1.24e at the time this is last, is the problem continue ?

I think I've fixed the issue. Thank you Brioche for pointing my attention toward the event viewer. I noticed there was a service called WinHTTP Web Proxy Auto-Discovery stopping at the time of disconnects. I disabled that. Also noticed a NAT error that was due to having the ICS service enabled, which I also disabled.

I played a bunch of games tonight and not ONE disconnect!

What a coincident!

My friend had problems with this the other day, turning off WinHTTP Web Proxy Auto-Discovery totally solved it!
