[Solved] windows 7x64 tapinstall.exe failed Rate Topic: -----

hello, i have windows 7 x64, when i try to install it show that the adapter couldnt install, ive done regedit fix that i seen in other thread, but it didnt work, i install and uninstall and restart my pc 20 times even more, same sh*t lol

so im attaching a log, please help ;)

have you tried to install it as an administrator?
Bestehende Rechtschreibfehler sind nur zur Auflockerung des Textbildes eingepflegt, bitte beanstanden sie diese Fehler nicht. Danke

Hi :). Since you are using a 64bit version of Win 7 try this:

Go to Start » Run and enter "regedit."

Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREWow6432NodeMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersion

With CurrentVersion Highlighted, go to the Edit menu and select New » Key

Name the key RunOnce, leaving everything else about the key alone.

hehe i know that i have 64 and at the first place i did what you say, then tried as 32 bit , so.. there seems to be a different problem?!?

p.s and tried to run as administrator

i seen this before posting! and i forgot to say, i had tunngle installed before, yesterday it was working fine, then it stopped to connecting to main server, i uninstall it, then install new version as administrator, and adapter is not installed now! ;)

Hi ;). Do you still see Tunngle in the list of the installed programs?
Did you uninstall it or just installed it over again? Can you still see tunngle folders after the uninstall? What about the Tunngle service?
Btw as a general thing if Tunngle can't connect please be patient and don't go easy on the uninstall button. Restart (the service or the pc) play around and use uninstall only as last resort.

when i uninstall theres no folders, after each uninstall i restart my pc, i dont know whats wrong now, if you can , i can give you my teamviewer ID and password and your try do something ;)

I hope you install this version: TunngleSetup_v4.2.2.4.exe - 3 MB - 2009-09-16 from our download page and not an older one from your harddisk ;)
Windows 7 Tunnglers: If you want to reinstall your current version of Tunngle 4.2.2.4, please download it again from our download page, as you cannot reinstall Tunngle using a Tunngle installer downloaded before 2009-09-15. Please note that you have to uninstall Tunngle 4.2.2.4 first and restart! Otherwise you get certificate problems with the old adapter drivers.

I turn off my anti-virus software, firewall, etc. I reset my computer after uninstall, before install, after install, etc... i done everything for my Tunngle install, but not working (4-101)

Problem solved.
Notes about the problem: Both users had ESET Smart Security Installed, with several "Unknown Adapters" listed in the Network Adapters Device Manager section.
ESET was uninstalled but the problem still persisted.
Used the ESET manual uninstaller (http://kb.eset.com/e...ent&id=SOLN2289) for complete uninstall from safe boot. Problem is still there.
The installation of any adapter (even different from Tunngle) would fail for "Insufficient system resources" .
There was a huge spam of network connections in the registry (1000). Even removing them didn't solve the problem.
Other VPN wouldn't install too.
Clearly the problem was a registry problem so after countless hours of troubleshooting the problem was solved by a Registry Mechanic.
